Hello,
I'm using the commercial headlight for binocular loupes.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dental…YS-USA-USPS-/110920692823
These tiny headlights consist of the Cree XR-E ?? + narrow beam Collimator (16mmx 11mm).
I'm trying to improve this small headlight to get more lumens per area.
I change the original led for new ones (CREE XP-G, XP-E R3, XM-L U2 etc.) and
I experimented with different collimators (with 6-12 angle - CREE LXP optic 6°, Gaggione LLS12N, Gaggione LLS01N).
While the new leds (CREE XP-G, XP-E R3, XM-L U2 etc.) are better (more lumen), the main problem is collimator.
I can not find collimator of the following parameters - width=16 mm, angle=5° or less.
Can you help me to find similar collimator? I need that this collimator will make tight light circle – diameter approx. 4cm or less at the distance approx. 30 cm.
Another light has combination of collimator + acrylic lens (24mm).
Can you recommend me some type of lens (approx. 24mm) which will concentrate the light?
On the following pictures:
- the original led + original colimator on the left side
- the best combination I have found so far - CREE XML U2 (strongest led i found on the 400mAh) + CREE LXP optic 6° (tight light beam, but not enough)

Another light, in which i want to change the acrylic lens to concentrate the light.
In these situation i want to concentrate the light circle on the working area from 4 cm (original) to 2 cm (new).
