adding an .avi library within Jinx!

  • I was finally able to use Jinx! to it's optimum level last night and spent most of the night creating light shows for my cats :D

I did see Jinx! allows .avi's to be imported. Do I need to create a folder or a subfolder within the Jinx! folder to run .avi's or can I import from any folder on my computer? Or maybe a better question would be; where should I import from to create a more stable running program.

    Thanks,

    From a SSD.

The most important question here is: How are your AVIs compressed? AVI is just the container, like a zip.

What matters is the CODEC that the video is packed with, as decoding the AVIs must be done in realtime by a VfW wrapper in the program (jinx! in this case), and depending on your machine and other variables the playback might stutter.

Back in my days when I did VJing for a living I heavily used the Codecs

    LAGARITH
    HUFFYUV
    MOTIONJPEG
CINEPAK RADIUS (only for legacy) programs.
